What Is My 600-lb Life Star Lacey Buckingham Doing Today?

For many participants of TLC’s My 600-lb Life, changing their eating habits can be a matter of life and death. Over the years, dozens of contestants have traveled across the country in hopes of enrolling in Dr. Nowzaradan’s renowned weight loss program, but few have been successful. In the December 1 episode of the TLC series, viewers are introduced to Lacey Buckingham, who, along with her boyfriend Ricky and her sister Sharon, embarks on a five-day journey from Washington State to Houston, Texas to seek help from Dr. Nowzaranda before it’s too late.

Lacey Buckingham is quite unhappy after a fight between Lacey and Sharon leads to her and Ricky breaking up. Despite a good Samaritan, Michelle, she ends up homeless in Houston and is forced to head back to Washington. Luckily, on her return, she manages to get back her old apartment and even some of her furniture. Lacey seems to be back where she started at the end of the episode, but a look at her Facebook page proves she hasn’t given up on her weight-loss journey.

Pictures taken in October show that she is committed to staying in shape, despite her previous struggles. Lacey Buckingham’s page says she’s in a relationship, but whether she’s reconnected with Ricky remains a mystery.

According to Lacey, her bingeing started as a child and quickly got out of control as she got older. Ricky works with the help of his full-time caregiver Sharon, who agrees to drive the couple to an appointment with Dr. Now. At the beginning of the episode, Lacey weighs 593 pounds. Lacey sighs with relief because the number on the scale is much lower than she expected. Unsurprisingly, Dr. Now is not impressed.

At her first appointment with Dr. Now, Lacey learns that she must lose 50 pounds in eight weeks to qualify for his program. Although disappointed by the news, Lacey agrees to follow a strict diet and exercise plan before returning to Texas.

On leaving the clinic, Lacey Buckingham is enthusiastic about her new journey. Before her second appointment with Dr. Now, Ricky asks her a question, and it seems that things are finally looking up for Lacey. But things go left when it’s time to take the big step.

Against Dr. Now’s wishes, Lacey Buckingham moves to Houston after losing 16 pounds, compared to the 50 pounds Dr. Now asked for. On the southern trip, tensions arise between Ricky, Sharon and Lacey – so much so that Ricky and Sharon leave Lacey at the gas station.
