Alaskan Bush People: Is Matt Brown Feuding With Billy Brown?

Discovery’s Alaskan Bush People told a series of intense plots, from Ami Brown’s battle against cancer to Noah Brown’s difficult decision to spend time away from his big family.

Another noteworthy story concerns the plight of Matt Brown, who has openly struggled with addiction problems, which began in 2016 when the family moved from the Alaskan desert to the city of Juneau. “I’ve always been able to manage life in the city without problems,” he explained to People. “But I started hanging out with people who were drinking. They had no problems, so while I was with them I started drinking.”

After a lot of hard work and moving to California, Matt seems to be doing better than ever. “A year and almost two months ago, I started a search for self-understanding, and awareness, to find a better way to exist in the world,” he wrote in a September 2019 post, apparently celebrating the anniversary of his rehabilitation stay. “It changed my life for the better forever.”

Despite Matt’s earnings, he hasn’t appeared in Alaskan Bush People since Season 9, which made fans wonder why he left the show. Although some might think it has something to do with his journey to sobriety, the real reason may be rooted in family drama.

Alaskan Bush People: Is Matt Brown Feuding With Billy Brown?

It’s no secret that the cast of Alaskan Bush People has experienced its fair share of tragedies and fractures, especially when it comes to the relationship between Matt and Billy Brown. This became particularly evident during his struggles over drug addiction, as a source told Radar Online in May 2019 that the two fought after a “bad fight” over Matt’s sobriety, causing him to abandon the show.

The drama was consummated when Billy threatened to terminate Matt’s contract if he didn’t get help, which he ended up doing, as the insider explained. But despite Matt’s improvements, Billy Brown allegedly didn’t hold up his end of the deal. “Billy knows how much Matt needed to work and he relied on the family show for income, just like the rest of his brothers, and Billy Brown still cut him off,” the source told Radar.

They added, “Matt doesn’t want anything to do with his father, and they all seem to have been brainwashed. It’s really sad because Matt is finally okay, which is all Billy Brown says he wants from him”.

What about Matt Brown’s brothers? “What’s even worse is that Matt’s brothers and sisters are taking Billy’s side because they’re all as hungry for money as their father,” the source said. Then, in August 2019, another Radar report said Matt would be back for Season 11, although this did not happen. I guess the fans will have to wait and see how it turns out.
