No one’s story on My 600-lb Life is simple. David Nelson – who is featured in the February 9, 2022 episode – shares his story of growing up in several foster homes and relying on food throughout his childhood. His eating habits never changed, and as he grew into adulthood, David Nelson continued to overeat at most meals. He began gaining weight more rapidly when he was bedridden for two months due to a cellulitis infection. He moved in with his foster mother, who had raised him since he was 17, and she began caring for him.
David Nelson continued to gain weight while living with her, and although she wants to see him healthy, she now allows him to be the person who cooks his meals and orders fast food with him. It is clear that David needs to make a big change.
My 600-lb Life: David Nelson’s Story.
David Nelson begins the episode with a weight of 763 pounds. He visits Dr. Now, who starts him on a rigorous weight loss program. David loses 75 pounds over the next two months and is scheduled for bariatric surgery.
However, in the time between that appointment and the next, David regains all that weight. It’s a low point for him, but he makes no excuses for himself, and Dr. Now seems to admire him for it.
David Nelson doesn’t get discouraged. Instead, he decides to keep putting in the effort. By the end of the episode, he loses weight again and even starts working on trying to keep losing pounds in preparation for his weight loss surgery.
She says in the episode that she will change her life for the better and that she will “never going back” to the weight or lifestyle she had before.
Where Is David Nelson, The Star Of ‘My 600-lb Life,’ Now?
David Nelson begins his My 600-lb Life weight loss journey on a positive note. He goes through some great ups and downs, but ends the episode with hope for the future. Unfortunately, as far as a confirmed update goes, he doesn’t seem to have a public social media account, so it’s hard to say for sure where he is now with his weight loss.
Judging by David Nelson’s progress, setbacks, and renewed determination in My 600-lb Life, it’s possible that David underwent surgery to lose weight after he finished filming. At this point, this is speculation, but he has admitted his struggles with diet and exercise, and that’s a big deal.
Let’s hope for David’s sake that he was able to continue his progress after filming of his episode ended. But since he doesn’t seem to be on social media with any updates, it’s hard to say for sure how his journey went once the cameras stopped rolling.
