One of the memorable stories featured in the hit reality series is that of Tamy Lyn Murrell. But what happened to Tamy after the cameras stopped rolling? 

According to The Cinemaholic, Tamy Lyn Murrell weighed 591 kilos when she first appeared on the show, and revealed that her obesity habits started in childhood. By following Dr. Now’s advice and diet plan, Tamy kick-started her My 600-Lb Life journey, losing 40 pounds in the first month. Six months later, she had managed to lose an impressive total of 179 pounds.

Luckily, Tamy Lyn Murrell managed to stick to her weight loss goals and by the end of the filming she had lost a total of 246 kilos, weighing 345 kilos.

According to The Cinemaholic, Tamy later disclosed that her husband James has moved out of their Kentucky home, and if her social media is any indication, it appears that she continued to lose weight and follow the Dr. Now diet and exercise regimen after the show ended. 

Elsewhere, Tamy Lyn Murrell also shared a health update on her life after the show, revealing the unfortunate diagnosis. As reported by Starcasm, Tamy Lyn Murrell had been seeing a doctor for severe ankle pain and was eventually diagnosed with degenerative bone disease. 

However, the diagnosis doesn’t seem to have dampened her spirits, and Tamy shared a series of updates on social media showing her continued weight-loss journey – including a picture uploaded in June 2020 of a smiling Tamy looking happy and healthy (via The Cinemaholic).
