Where Is Diana Bunch From ‘My 600-lb Life’ Now?

TLC’s My 600-lb Life follows the stories of morbidly obese people who go on incredible weight-loss journeys to turn their lives around. One memorable story featured on the reality show was that of Diana Bunch, who became one of the biggest success stories (via Starcasm). But what is Diana doing today?

According to The Cinemaholic, Diana first appeared in the fifth season of My 600-lb Life, weighing just over 600 pounds. At her first appointment with bariatric surgeon Dr. Now, it was revealed that the Seattle native also suffered from extreme swelling – a condition called lymphedema – as well as open sores and villi.

According to In Touch Weekly, it was revealed that the root cause of her food addiction stemmed from childhood trauma, and Diana disclosed during her appearance on the show that she had been abused as a child. Growing up, Bunch said she turned to food as a comfort food and her addiction to food grew so strong that she was eventually released from the air force.

Luckily, Diana’s appearance on the show was a success and after a successful gastric bypass operation, she managed to lose an astonishing 265 kilos. But her story didn’t end there, and Diana continued her new healthy lifestyle even after the cameras stopped rolling. In the My 600-Lb Life spin-off “Where Are They Now?” it was revealed that Diana had lost even more weight and reached her goal of 195 pounds (via The Cinemaholic).

According to Starcasm, Diana has lost a total of 425 kilos since the start of My 600-Lb Life, which means she has lost 68.5% of her peak weight. As of 2020, she was the sixth most successful contestant of all time on the TLC reality series.

Although Diana is no longer as active as she used to be, she had previously shared a number of photos of herself on social media, many of which showed that she has stuck to her new diet routine since leaving the show.

Despite the success of My 600-Lb Life, it seems that her reality show days are over. Speaking to a fan earlier, Diana revealed, “Since I was at my goal weight when my second episode aired, there won’t be any more follow-up”.
