“In the second episode of the eighth season of My 600-Lb Life, the focus was on 39-year-old Lindsey Witte. Detailing her past, which included an abusive boyfriend, a troubled father and a passion for food (“It’s always been there for me when no one else was,” she tells the show’s audience), the Iowan woman struggled with a body that seemed to abandon her.
Even as she acknowledged that things needed to change because she feared death or losing her husband Paul, she questioned her husband’s support and understanding of what she was going through.
Yet, to everyone’s relief – and to the inspiration of many – Witte was already a success at the start of her eighth season. After visiting the show’s resident doctor in Dr. Houston, she committed to making changes to qualify for a second gastric sleeve weight loss surgery.
These changes included moving to Houston and losing a significant amount of weight relatively quickly. Although she didn’t initially do well on the diet program, she qualified for the surgery by the end of the episode (and for almost a year in real time). Despite complications from the scarring, she came through the surgery well, recovered and started on the road to success with diet, exercise programme and psychotherapy.
Where Is Lindsey Witte, The Star Of ‘My 600-lb Life,’ Now?
Lindsey, who now goes by the name Lindsey Kay, continues to document her weight loss journey on social media, including in the Facebook private group “Second Chance Success – The Real Lindsay Witte” and more recently on TikTok. In a post on September 19, she said she had lost over 350 pounds from her high of 640 pounds, so she is now down to 290 pounds.
Although in mid-2020 Lindsey Witte dismissed rumours that she and Paul were having marital problems, things have changed. In October’s TikTok, Lindsey Witte announced they were divorced. As those who have watched the episode will know, Paul struggled with his own addiction issues, in his case alcohol.
When Lindsey moved to Houston to pursue her own development, she stayed there – and apparently had a relationship with an old girlfriend. Lindsey said she was determined not to let himself, her loved ones and her fans down despite the setback.

Why are you referring to Lindsey as he/himself/his? SHE lost a lot of weight but SHE didn’t have a sex change.
