My 600-lb Life: Isaac Martinez’s Story. How is Isaac Martinez from My 600-lb Life Doing Now?

On My 600-lb Life, Isaac Martinez travels to Houston, Texas to meet with Dr. Now. Dr. Nowzaradan is a surgeon who specializes in helping morbidly obese people receive gastric bypass surgery to help them lose weight.

Upon arriving at Dr. Now’s office in My 600-lb Life, Isaac steps on a scale to weigh himself. Then, he discovers that he currently weighs 661 pounds. But while he says his weight is too high, he believes he is ready to do whatever it takes to get it off.

Dr. Now of My 600-lb Life talks to Isaac about why he is eating so much. Isaac reveals that he is responsible for caring for his mother who is battling cancer. In addition, he does all the cooking and cleaning in his home.

After his first trip to see Dr. Now on My 600-lb Life, Isaac starts eating healthier and exercising. But that doesn’t help him lose enough to qualify for weight loss surgery. Dr. Now says it’s not safe for Isaac to receive surgery after only losing less than 40 pounds in two months.

Later on My 600-lb Life, Dr. Now tries to warn Isaac about the dangers of his weight. He says that if he keeps this up, he is putting too much strain on his body. Also, that there will be a matter of time before his body gives up and that “it’s it” for his life.
