RHOBH: How Sophia Hutchins Instigated The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Rumors

Sophia Hutchins recently confessed that she might be responsible for spreading the rumors that she and Caitlyn Jenner were on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The couple first focused on the idea of appearing on RHOBH during an interview with Entertainment Tonight in March. “I would be on [ Real Housewives of Beverly Hills] in two seconds,” Sophia said at the time and jokingly begged Bravo chief Andy Cohen to give them a call.

Caitlyn Jenner also confessed that she could see that she was tracking the RHOBH women. “I saw an episode with you two nights ago, and frankly, I got a little caught up in it,” she admitted. “I looked at it and said, “I saw myself getting into the drama.”

As soon as RHOBH Season 10 finished airing, fans speculated who would replace Denise Richards after she left the show and Teddi Mellencamp after she was fired. Sophia Hutchins explained that she may have inadvertently let herself get into the minds of the fans.

“I was at Craig’s recently, which is a restaurant in LA where there is always a media presence,” Sophia Hutchins explained on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast. “The cameraman was there that I’ve been seeing with TMZ for years. And I usually say something. Usually it doesn’t go anywhere, but I usually say something and, you know, he’s just like, so what’s this conversation about the Real Housewives?

It’s likely that the cameraman made the assumption from Sophia’s ET interview earlier in the year. “And I don’t know exactly what I said, but it blew up, TMZ covered it up,” she continued. “And it went everywhere that I was interested in doing The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I reached out to my agent maybe like a month ago about, “Hey, what does it look like doing RHOBH? What does that process look like? I think that would be a really nice show to do.”

Sophia Hutchins ended up feeling bad about how quickly the news got out because Caitlyn Jenner ended up being blamed for starting the rumor. “As Andy said Caitlyn started the rumor herself,” she confessed. “I felt so bad because maybe I shouldn’t have said anything to TMZ. I didn’t know it would get so crazy.”

When the rumors started, Andy said that the producers of Bravo had never contacted Sophia Hutchins and Caitlyn about participating in the show. He also insinuated that they were to blame for the rumors.

“This is one of those where the call comes from within, as they say. I know they have expressed their interest in public. On social media they have tagged me in messages and said, “We think this is a great idea,” Andy said on his SiriusXM Radio Andy show. “But we never formally talked to them. That rumor is not true.
