“A year ago, I was sitting in my house finishing up some last-minute assignments while Stephen was doing some office work,” Jana began. “We had reconnected and started talking again, not long before this. Oh, how much can change in a year!”
That reconnection came not through a phone call or social media—Jana says it started with a handwritten letter. “Honestly, I think if he would’ve texted me, I would’ve been more like, ‘Hey, dude, kind of get lost … I’m not really interested,’” she admitted.
Stephen Wissmann’s old-school gesture reopened a romance that many thought had ended years ago. “We exchanged two, three letters back and forth,” said Jana. “And then we started texting again, just kind of on a basic friendship level.”

But by mid-2024, the couple secured a marriage license and tied the knot just a month later in front of 500 guests at a rustic Arkansas venue.
