Counting On: Jessa Duggar Slammed for Potentially Putting Kids in Danger with New Home Device

Today, we’re talking about Jessa Duggar, who’s recently been under fire for potentially putting her kids in danger with a new home device. In a video shared by the Counting On alum, Jessa proudly installed a self-closing door hinge at her Arkansas home, but some fans are concerned that it could be a hazard for her little ones.

Counting On: The Video That Sparked Controversy

In the video, Jessa Duggar captured her son Henry (6) and daughter Ivy (3) hanging out by her garden doors. She then demonstrated the newly installed hinge by letting her one-year-old daughter Fern open the door and release it, which automatically closed behind her. Jessa added a text overlay that read: “No more ‘please shut the door’. Hello, springtime. Goodbye flies in my kitchen. Some dreams do come true.”

While Jessa Duggar seemed thrilled with her new contraption, some fans quickly pointed out potential safety concerns for her children. One user commented about their own experience, saying, “Please be so careful with these doors! We had them at work when the door slammed and amputated the end of my finger :-(.” Another chimed in with a sarcastic, “I’m guessing it’s safe for little fingers,” and a third added, “Until they get stuck between it.”

Counting On: Jessa Duggar’s Growing Family

Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald, have four children together: Spurgeon (7), Henry, Ivy, and Fern. The video comes just weeks after the couple made headlines for selling their Arkansas home for $280,000, following a fire incident that destroyed a shed on their property.

Counting On: The Fayetteville Home Sale

Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald purchased their Fayetteville, Arkansas home in 2017, renovated it, and then moved into a church-owned house last year. The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed that the couple sold the property to Porter & 49 Opportunity Fund LLC on April 7. Real estate documents confirmed the sale price of $280,000.

On December 23, firefighters responded to a fire call at the reality stars’ address. The fire took place in an outside shed, about 100 feet away from the home. According to the incident report, a man walking down the street had a warming fire inside the shed that got out of control. Thankfully, no one was injured, and the fire was extinguished without any damage to the home.
