Season 2 of My 600-lb Life introduced James Jones from Texas. At 728 pounds, he was shocked by his weight.
Recalling a visit to the doctor years ago, James couldn’t believe the scale’s reading.
Losing family members to obesity, James struggled with food. Determined, James moved to Houston to join Dr. Now’s program.
Shedding 53 pounds quickly on an egg-and-toast diet, James underwent gastric bypass surgery. The episode ended with James at 376 pounds.
Where Is James Jones From My 600-Lb Life Now?
Fast forward to today, it seems like James Jones, despite the My 600-Lb Life release, hasn’t hit 728 on the scale yet. But, his health faced dangers beyond obesity.
In 2019, he had spinal fusion surgery after a car accident. “I went off the road,” James recalls. “Flipped my F350 across a four-lane highway. Broke my c2 [vertebra] and both collar bones” (via Starcasm). James is active on social media, showing a healthier weight.
He doesn’t share his current size, but his obesity battle isn’t just personal. On her 2020 birthday, she asked followers to donate to the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) instead of sending gifts.
OAC aims to support those affected by obesity. It’s great to see James healthy and supporting a cause close to his heart. Hopefully, her weigh-ins will remind her how far she’s come.
