Counting On: Do Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Want Their Own Show?

Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar turned out to be the Duggar family rebels. The followers of the family would never have imagined that it would be Jill who would break with her family and make decisions that are markedly against the beliefs of the family. Here she is, though. Now, fans would love for the duo to have their own reality TV show, but should they reopen their lives to the cameras?

Counting On Seems To Be On İts Way Out

There is reason to believe that Counting On may be on the way out. The Duggar family has been working with TLC since 2004, when the first family special aired on the network. The network was even willing to work with the family after scandals led to outrage among viewers. But now things are a little different.

The show has become quite stale. After all, there are only so many engagements, weddings and home births that one can watch. Daily Soap Dish says that ratings are down because of this. The low ratings could lead to the end of the show. Even though one season is currently recovering, it is increasingly likely that next season may be the last.

Counting On: Do Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Want Their Own Show?

Jessa Duggar and Joy-Anna Duggar have both brought to YouTube in recent months to share videos with their fans. The current interest in alternative income streams has led many followers to believe that the family show is on the rocks. While Counting On could be headed towards cancellation, another Duggar couple could potentially get their own show. Family followers are interested in seeing a show about Jill and Derick. They would like the show to focus almost exclusively on how they have freed themselves from their family over the past few months.

While neither Derick Dillard nor Jill came out and suggested they were open to filming, Derick did as a social media post that asked TLC to give Jill and Derick a reality TV show, according to the TV Show Ace. Derick Dillard has stated several times that he is interested in writing a book and is currently in the process of writing the memoirs. However, it is not known how much this work will focus on the Duggars. If Derick likes the idea of publishing, it’s possible that he might be persuaded to film a reality TV show. If the price is right.

Counting On: Would They Deal With Tlc Ever Again?

If Jill and Derick had their own show, it seems unlikely the TLC would go ahead with the show. Derick Dillard, in particular, seems to have some bad blood with the network. He’s called them several times on social media since he was cut out of the show in 2017. His complaints about the network have become more apparent in recent months.

Derick Dillard accused the network of helping Jim Bob Duggar deceive the Duggar boys. He also claims that he and his wife were threatened with legal action if they refused to continue filming. With all that in mind, it doesn’t look like Derick would ever be willing to work with the TLC again. It’s unlikely the TLC would even bother to take a risk with a loose cannon like this.

But that doesn’t mean another network can’t take them. It’s been years since their last appearance on the show. It can be assumed that whatever contracts they signed, many years ago, have probably expired or will expire soon. If that were to happen, other networks would be free to pick up the pair, if that’s something that interests them.
