Counting On: How are Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard making a living?

Former Counting On star Jill Duggar has made many sacrifices since he left the popular reality series. Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, have not been on the show as full-time cast members since 2017, and their ongoing feud with Jim Bob Duggar has only escalated in recent months. With the couple in crisis alone, here’s a look at everything Jill has lost since she was cut off from Jim Bob.

Inside Jill’s rebellion

As Counting On fans know, Jim Bob and his wife, Michelle Duggar, teach their children at home and are not big supporters of college attendance. In many ways, this education does not prepare Duggar boys to compete in the real world.

This is one of the reasons why many of them have not been able to start their own careers. Instead, most of them seem to be content to get married, have children and count on the support of Jim Bob and Michelle to move on.

Most Duggars stick to the strict rules of Jim Bob and Michelle, but Jill Duggar was the exception to the rule. Although Jill seemed happy to follow her parents’ example, she and Derick no longer talk to her side of the family.

The feud began between Derick and Jim Bob after men disagreed over how Jim Bob was managing the show’s earnings. Derick wasn’t happy with how Jim Bob was negotiating the contracts and accused him of taking most of the money.

As you can imagine, Derick’s feud with Jim Bob has put him and Jill Duggar in a difficult position. The couple, who share two children, can no longer count on TLC money or his family’s wages.

To help make ends meet, Derick worked as a driver for Grub Hub. He’s also finishing his law degree, although it’s unclear if he’s close to graduating.

As fans will remember, Derick was fired from Counting On in 2017 following some controversial social media comments. Derick found himself in a difficult situation after taking a stand against the LGBTQ community and apparently attacked Jazz Jennings.

After Derick was let go, Jill quickly followed him. Although she enjoyed a brief cameo on the last season of Counting On, she did not return to the show in a full-time role.

The decision to leave Counting On was not an easy one for Jill and Derick. They not only suffered a financial blow, but Jill’s relationship with her brothers suffered as well.
