Counting On: Jeremy Plans A Surprise Party For Jinger Duggar

Tuesday night’s episode of Counting On begins with some harrowing news from Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo. But ends with the couple enjoying a special moment with their loved ones after a devastating loss. In the August 18 episode of the TLC reality series, Jinger opens on her miscarriage while Jeremy Vuolo plans a big surprise for his wife’s birthday.

In the August 11 episode of Counting On, Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo enthusiastically announced to her family that they were expecting a second child. Unfortunately, the couple’s happiness was short-lived. That night, Jinger began to experience some sightings. The next day, she called her mother Michelle Duggar for advice. Then, she and Jeremy went to the doctor, where they received the bad news that Jinger was having a miscarriage.

“We went in and they tried to control her heartbeat, but they couldn’t find one,” says a crying Jinger in the episode. “They did an ultrasound scan and said we had lost the baby.

Dealing with the loss of pregnancy was “very difficult,” Jeremy Vuolo said, especially for Jinger. With her 26th birthday approaching shortly after the miscarriage, he decided to organize an extra-special party for his wife.

“She has been through a lot in recent years. We moved to different places, we had a baby… and then there was the miscarriage,” he said. “I just wanted to celebrate Jinger with some of her closest friends and family”.

To make Jinger’s birthday unforgettable, Jeremy Vuolo threw her a surprise party. Among the guests were not only their friends in California, but also some out-of-town guests.

With the help of some friends Jeremy put together the party without Jinger suspecting anything. He even recruited some unexpected guests. Jinger’s parents Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar flew in from Arkansas for the occasion, together with her sisters Jessa and Jana Duggar and brother-in-law Ben Seewald.

In the upcoming episode Jeremy Vuolo takes a blindfolded Jinger Duggar to a friend’s door. She has no idea what’s inside. After seeing two of her siblings, Jinger is overwhelmed. Her joy is even greater when her mom and dad make an appearance.

Not only is her family on hand to celebrate Jinger’s birthday, but they are also able to offer some support when she goes through a difficult time. The gesture clearly means a lot to Jinger, especially since her mother had a similar experience with the miscarriage of her second pregnancy.

“It was so helpful to have my mother there to talk to me about the miscarriage, given that she had been through the same thing a few times,” Jinger said. “Those words really bring a lot of comfort and even some closure.
