My 600-lb Life: Sarah Neeley Had Lost Her Purpose

Of all the stories we’ve seen in TLC’s My 600-Lb Life, Sarah Neeley’s journey could be one of the most remarkable. We first met Sarah Neeley when she first came on the show, weighing 642 pounds, according to Newsweek, and we admitted to struggling with the weight since she was a child. In her childhood home, her parents’ divorce and her mother’s addiction exacerbated her food binge, so at age 8, Sarah weighed 200 pounds.

Sarah told the cameras, “My mother told me that I ate too much from an early age and I think it started when I was about 3 years old. I had three brothers: an older brother, an older sister and a younger sister. I’m the only big one”, via Newsweek. Sarah Neeley added: “I think eating was a way for me to face my world because my father had a drinking problem that led to a lot of fights between him and my mother.

Sarah Neeley was 24 when she came on the show and committed to Dr. Nowzaradan’s program. She finally qualified for a gastrectomy, according to In Touch. Thanks to dedication and impressive work, she lost nearly 200 pounds.

Sarah’s journey was remarkable and inspiring, but it was also marked by some really difficult moments. Being such an emotionally generous person, Sarah Neeley was open to these difficulties and it’s amazing to feel like she got through it.

Sarah Neeley appeared in the episode of TLC’s My 600-Lb Life: Where Are They Now to give viewers a chance to see how she has been doing since she entered the show. In April 2019, Sarah Neeley experienced a harrowing moment that she shared on Facebook. She quickly deleted the post, but Starcasm received a screenshot of her message before it disappeared.

Sarah Neeley wrote, “A few days ago, I enrolled in a [mental] health facility for help with my depression and anxiety. Well, the second night there, I woke up in horrible pain… I mentioned to her that I was pregnant…” I was just over 4 months old, but I lost the baby.”

Sarah Neeley added, “I’m suffering in a way I never imagined a person could suffer. I’m suffering deep down inside my soul. How could God let this happen… I don’t know… the cameras are rolling over this.” I’m exhausted. I just finished. For a split second, I had a purpose. My purpose is gone.” This must have been a devastating blow to Sarah. Since then, though, she’s recovered, and she actually has some exciting news to share with everyone.

Since her tragic miscarriage in April 2019, Sarah Neeley has some very exciting news to share with everyone. As of May 2020, Sarah Elizabeth Neeley is engaged and expecting a baby! The TLC alumni talked about her boyfriend, Jonah, and her next baby with Starcasm, saying, “I’m engaged. And pregnant! Life is really incredible.”

Sarah Elizabeth Neeley is ready for this new journey. She said, “I’m ready for my life. A quiet, peaceful life with my new starting family.” She added: “Being a good wife and a good mother are my goal. To enjoy life. That’s all I want after all the chaos I’ve already experienced,” according to In Touch.

But that’s not the only exciting news for Sarah. In December 2019, she talked about her battle with sobriety and shared with her followers that she was celebrating a great milestone. According to In Touch, she said, “This year I got to enjoy Christmas sober. Sarah Elizabeth Neeley shared that recovery is now an important part of her life.
