Lisa Vanderpump, the former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has some bad news for her employees. As word spread that the reality TV personality was facing problems with her catering business, Vanderpump broke her silence. The producer of Vanderpump Rules has finally confirmed that Villa Blanca, her restaurant in Beverly Hills, is closing for good.
RHOBH: Vanderpump Hit With The Pandemic
Earlier this week there was a report on Villa Blanca which closed its doors for good after being hit hard by the pandemic. The restaurant had closed its doors because it was forbidden to dine to slow the spread. Although many other places opened their doors for takeaway food, Vanderpump’s restaurants did not.
After all the rumors about Villa Blanca, Lisa Vanderpump confirms the restaurant’s closure after 12 years. “Although there have been a lot of false articles in the last week or so about the reasons for Villa Blanca’s closure, we will in fact close our doors forever,” she told the Daily Mail.
Lisa Vanderpump’s main problem with not reopening Villa Blanca is that the owner has not renegotiated the lease. “If the landlord had been willing to renegotiate and the lease wasn’t finished, we would have reopened, but unfortunately with the Coronavirus the situation was out of our control,” Lisa Vanderpump explained.
Despite the closure, the producer of Vanderpump Rules hopes to find another location to reopen.
“As we say goodbye to the location where we actively served the Beverly Hills community for 12 years and employed hundreds of Angelenos, it’s a sad time for us, we’re excited to perhaps move Villa Blanca back to a different location in the future – since its staff and clients have always been a family,” she added.
Villa Blanca was featured prominently on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the show that made Vanderpump a household name. The reality star has another series of restaurants in West Hollywood that include SUR, TomTom and Pump.
