What Happened To Margaret Johnson From My 600-lb Life?

The reality show has seen its share of success stories and tragedies, but what happened to Margaret Johnson of My 600-LB Life after her participation in the series ended?

TLC’s reality show My 600-LB Life debuted in 2012 and has aired ten seasons to date. The brainchild of reality producer Jonathan Nowzaradan, it follows his father and weight loss expert Dr. Younan Nowzaradan (affectionately known as “Dr. Now”) as he helps obese people improve their health.

Each season of My 600-LB Life chronicles a year in the lives of several of Dr. Now’s patients as they try to reduce their weight to a healthier level through a combination of diet and, if necessary, surgery.

Over the ten years of airing on TLC, the series has featured more than 100 people determined to lose weight, and the most recent series featured a 35-year-old patient named Margaret Johnson, originally from Baytown, Texas.

What Happened To Margaret Johnson From My 600-lb Life?

When My 600-LB Life first featured Margaret Johnson, she weighed more than 750 pounds and struggled to walk without help. Margaret’s episode described her weight-related struggles–including being hospitalized for breathing problems–and how her food addiction problems stemmed from verbal abuse from her father as a child. After being put on a strict eating plan by Dr. Nowzaradan, she managed to lose enough weight — over 150 pounds — to undergo gastric bypass surgery.

Margaret John’s episode aired in early January 2022 and has yet to be featured in the show’s spin-off series My 600-LB Life: Where Are They Now? which offers updates on how the cast members fared after their participation in the TLC reality show.

As a result, not much is known about what has happened to Margaret John since the airing of her My 600-LB Life episode, but considering the lack of updates and the fact that she seemed determined to continue her weight loss journey, it is safe to assume that she is doing well.
