Where Is Justin McSwain From ‘My 600-lb Life’ Now?

My 600-lb Life has been documenting individuals’ weight loss journeys since 2012. It has featured over 100 people who have appeared on the show and met with bariatric surgeon Dr. Now to embark on the biggest transformation of their lives.

Some of these participants reach their goal, while others see their progress stalled. Sadly, there are even those who have died after telling their story. The road to achieving significant weight loss is difficult and fans of the show become emotionally invested in the outcome.

When we last saw Justin McSwain, he was on his way to becoming one of the most memorable actors on the show. His episode, which premiered in Season 7, featured the then 27-year-old, 687 pounds, struggling with anxiety and agoraphobia.

Justin had coped with a difficult childhood and an unstable mother through food, and the addiction grew into dependency as he got older. When Justin took the initiative and met Dr Now, he quickly began to turn his life around.

A year after adjusting his diet and undergoing gastric bypass surgery, Justin had lost 334 pounds. By 2019, he had started taking flying lessons to earn his pilot’s license, believing that even the sky was not the limit. Justin has since made even more progress. Here’s Justin now.

As reported by People, Justin recently appeared on My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now. Not only had he lost over 450 pounds, but he also joined fellow Dr. Now patient Christine Phillips to speak publicly about his incredible weight loss.

In her speech, she acknowledged the therapy that helped her realise she was “someone who deserved a chance at life”. Justin, who previously had to leave his job due to his health problems, recently completed a 5km hike, which he celebrated on his Instagram.

The South Carolina resident seems to have a new love for nature. Her feed is full of joyful moments, from wishing Dr. Now a happy birthday, to before and after pictures and hikes with her adorable corgi Finn.

In a recent Instagram post with a black and white photo, Justin McSwain said there are still moments where he feels self-conscious about his body, but at times he feels confident.
