Where Is Lupe Samano From My 600-lb Life Now?

In the season 4 finale of My 600-Lb Life, viewers will meet Lupe Samano. Her story is similar to many others that have appeared on the show in the past. Weighing around 650 kilos, Lupe could not get out of bed, totally dependent on her husband Gilbert.

While some of the patients on the show have a supportive partner to help them on their journey, Lupe was not in that camp. 

Her episode highlighted the abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband, and the relationship did not improve from there. Although Lupe lost almost 300 pounds by the end of her episode, it was revealed in her follow-up story on “Where Are They Now?” that she was caught cheating on her husband. She left her husband and moved to San Antonio to live with her cousin. While she has persevered on her weight-loss journey, she has also dealt with tremendous trauma in the years since the episode aired.

Lupe goes by her full name “Lupita” on Facebook, where she shares updates on her ongoing development. She hasn’t posted about her weight for a while, but judging by the photos, she’s staying true to the Dr. Now plan.

After a new relationship with Andrew Renteria (via Heavy), things got better for a while. Sadly, Samano faced tragedy again in 2019 when Renteria passed away due to complications from kidney problems. 

There have been no updates to Lupe Samano’s Facebook profile since the end of 2019, so hopefully he has continued to eat healthy and exercise.
