Derick Dillard is quite vocal about his contempt for TLC, the network that produces the Duggar family’s television show, Counting On. Derick, who married Jill Duggar in 2014, has taken aim on the network, and the Duggar family on Instagram and Twitter in recent months. While the couple has absolutely no plans to return to Counting On, Derick is not completely against the idea of returning to television, based on a social media comment that he just liked.
Counting On: Derick Dillard is open to returning to TV
Eagle followers have noticed that Derick Dillard has become active on social media again. Shortly after spilling family tea on Instagram in December 2019, Derick seemed to take a break from social networking sites. He stopped commenting and didn’t post a ton. He’s officially back, and he just liked a comment that suggested that he and his wife should return to TV to tell their story about breaking the Duggar family and their oppressive beliefs.
The tweet he liked called TLC and suggested that they focus on Derick and Jill Duggar instead of the Duggar family. While Derick liked the tweet, it seems unlikely the duo would return to the network. That doesn’t mean another network wouldn’t be interested in showing the family, it does. The Bates family, who first met the TV audience on 19 Kids and Counting, switched to UpTV to tell the story of their super-sized family.
Counting On: Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar have been breaking Duggar rules for years
Jill Duggar hasn’t been mentioned by her parents for over two years. A cursory search of the family’s social media pages and a blog show that Jill hasn’t been written about or photographed with the family since 2017. Jill and Derick also moved in with them in the summer of 2019 without the help of the Duggar family, who were all on family vacation when the move took place. Fans soon noticed the lack of Duggar involvement, but neither Jill nor her family mentioned the apparent split.
What is clear is that Derick and Jill have been breaking the oppressive rules imposed on members of the Duggar family for years. Jill has pierced her nose and regularly wears pants. She also recently enrolled her son, Israel, in public school. The Duggar family is vehemently opposed to traditional education and has chosen to give their extended family home schooling. Jill Duggar has followed home schooling throughout her academic career.
