Counting On: Jana Has Chosen Not To Wed Young
When the Duggar children grew up, Josh Duggar, the eldest son of Michelle and Jim Bob, married first. From there, almost all Duggar children married in their early twenties – or younger. But Jana chose not to go down the same road. Her early twenties came and went, and she chose not to marry someone she had only courted for a few months, similar to the way her siblings were married.
Over the years, Jana Duggar has taken an interest in various hobbies, such as gardening and home furnishing. In the past she has noticed that she didn’t get married young, because she could discover more of the things she likes, because she doesn’t have children of her own.
Jana has received many questions about her relationship status, and she has also been at the center of several rumors about why she was never courted. Some fans are convinced that Jana deliberately tried to break the family tradition by not getting married, while others have theorized that she didn’t want many children, which is why she postponed getting married.
In a recent episode of Counting On, Jana finally revealed how she feels about a future courtship. While doing her hair with Abbie Grace Burnett, the stylist asked Duggar about her love life. When Duggar was asked if she wanted to be in a relationship, she added, “I wouldn’t mind. She said he sometimes feels out of place when she spends time with her siblings and their spouses, as if she should be married too, but that she feels reassured knowing that they are all family.
I am glad Jana is doing Jana. She does not have to do what her religion is telling her to do.
