Joy-Anna is the newest daughter to wear pants. She was caught sitting with Gideon while she was reading to him and followers noticed the pants. Two years ago, a Duggar daughter wearing pants would have been a big scandal. Jinger Duggar kicked the trend, and now, all adult daughters except Jessa.

As they grew up, the Duggar women were taught to always cover themselves up. They were instructed to wear long dresses or skirts so as not to give men the wrong idea.
It wasn’t as shocking to see Anna wearing pants as when Jinger Duggar went to Laredo, Texas, and did it. She’s just the last adult Duggar daughter to jump on the bandwagon. A follower commented on her wardrobe and said, “No disrespect intended, but I love to see a few of you break with some of the traditional ways you have been raised and realize that not all the things that are there are bad for you or that God will love you less…”.
The picture was taken by her best friend, Carlin Bates. They have been friends for years and continue to support each other. Now that Anna has two little ones and Carlin has one, they also have motherhood to discuss.
Of all the adult Duggar daughters, Anna is the one who would probably follow along with Jill Duggar and leave the Counting On fame behind. In fact, earlier this year it was believed that Anna Duggar and Austin had run away from the show. So far it seems that Anna Duggar has been exploring a lot since welcoming her little girl. She and Austin Forsyth have been through a lot over the past 18 months, including the loss of their daughter during a pregnancy of only 20 weeks. Just a few weeks ago they welcomed a little girl, their rainbow baby.
Her pants are just another way to show that she and Austin Forsyth have control over their own lives. Joy-Anna hasn’t talked about her feelings or beliefs about things like wardrobe and how many children she will have, but it’s probably similar to the views of some of her older sisters who have taken booths.
Following the direction of their husbands seems to be what the Duggar daughters want. Ben and Jessa seem most like Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar at this point. They live the way her parents lived and are both incredibly important to smooth things out in the family.
