Season 20 of Little People, Big World shows off Amy Roloff’s future post-divorce. On the show, Amy Roloff is looking for a house so she can move in with Roloff Farms. And her partner of over three years, Chris Marek, has finally asked the question we’ve all been waiting for. Now, Amy and Marek are over the moon and happy, because they can’t wait to tie the knot in the distant future, surrounded by family and friends.
Amy Roloff shared the exciting news with her son Zach Roloff and his wife Tori. And the reaction was not one of pure happiness. Zach Roloff had many reservations about how Amy had handled the situation, and Tori described the entire conversation as “embarrassing.
Little People, Big World: Amy and fiancé Chris have spent a lot of time with Tori Roloff and Zach Roloff
Zach Roloff didn’t have the easiest time to adjust to his parents’ divorce. And when Marek came into the picture, it took him a while to get used to the idea of Amy dating again.
“Chris is, like, the new guy on the scene,” Amy Roloff told Us Weekly in an interview. “So, for my kids, it’s like, ‘Wait a minute – what’s Mom doing? Who is this person? And just help them appreciate that life goes on and, you know, it’s someone you don’t know, but I really appreciate the respect and everything they’ve given them.
Over the years, though, it seems like Zach Roloff and Marek have spent a lot of time together. In December 2019, Amy Roloff published a photo of her and her partner with Zach’s family. “It’s Christmas and what fun Chris and I had to go with @zroloff07 and @toriroloff Jackson and little Lilah to pick out their Christmas tree. Moments like this make the Christmas holidays bright and cheerful,” the post entitled.
Little People, Big World: Zach Roloff Didn’t Take Amy Roloff’s Engagement News Well
In LPBW Season 20 Episode 5, Amy Roloff told the cameras that she would tell her family about her engagement. Her conversation with Matt Roloff went very well, and he even noticed that Marek was a “smart guy” for going after Amy Roloff and asking for her hand in marriage. But Zach Roloff’s response wasn’t as kind.
“The boys were more than respectful and welcoming to Chris,” Amy Roloff told the camera. “When you add getting married and being engaged, it’s a whole different level, and I wasn’t sure how they’d take it.”
Finally, Amy broke the news to Tori and Zach Roloff – and Zach spent much of the speech in silence. While Amy Roloff expressed the hope that he would congratulate her, she was not surprised by the reaction. And Zach explained why she responded that way.
“I said to my mom and dad, ‘Hey, these are things I don’t wanna talk about on camera. My only limit is the relationship between your guys, and if that relationship goes beyond where it is now.” I don’t want to be surprised by any news of these relationships on camera,” Zach Roloff explained. “And then she went in front of the camera and surprised me with that news.”
