The Bachelor star Matt James may have found love on the show, but it looks like it wasn’t the forever love he had hoped for. Based on the latest rumors, it looks like Matt is single again. But this story comes with a twist. It doesn’t appear that the two broke up because they weren’t compatible based on the fact that they rushed their relationship on The Bachelor.

The breakup was also not due to the fact that the two were pursuing fame instead of their relationship. Their breakup seems to be due to the problems within Bachelor Nation and dealing with the consequences.

Late this afternoon, Reality Steve reported that Matt has chosen to call it quits with Rachael Kirkconnell, the woman he would have chosen during the finale. “Confirming the report from the previous slide, Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell have broken up and are no longer together,” Reality Steve wrote on his social media accounts. Matt James himself hasn’t said anything about the breakup with his final choice. Of course, he’s most likely contractually bound, which means he won’t be able to talk about the show until the After The Final Rose special.

That particular segment is currently up in the air, as ABC has not chosen whether to go ahead or cancel it. Chris Harrison revealed that he would be stepping down from his role as host due to a recent interview with Rachel Lindsay, where he did not condemn racist actions.

Since we don’t know what happened behind closed doors, we don’t know what choice Matt had. He may have felt he had no choice but to break up with Rachael. The photos and subsequent reaction also sent waves through Bachelor Nation. ABC is allegedly trying to remove Chris from the final episodes to make sure fans don’t see him. They are trying to remove him to please Bachelor Nation, who has asked him to leave his position as host.
