Blake Horstmann was a controversial participant in the most recent season of Bachelor in Paradise. It all started when he asked Tayshia Adams out instead of Hannah Godwin after receiving the first date card.
It’s no secret that Blake and Hannah had flirted a little before they met in Mexico for Paradise, so when the Bachelorette asked alum Adams instead of Hannah, everyone was shocked.
Well, a few days ago Horstmann finally explained his actions in an Instagram issue.

“Why did you take Tayshia on your first one-on-one date instead of Hannah G?” asked a fan.
“Okay, so this is gonna be a long… But I’m no longer employed…” He started.
“This is a funny question, bc Tayshia is great and anyone would be happy to have a date with her, but I understand, given the circumstances, eh.
Then Blake joined us.
“When I got the date card, I was 100% going to take Hannah with me. I even left my interview to say I would take Hannah. When I walked out of the interview, 3 producers sat me down for almost an hour and convinced me to take Tayshia. It was 100% my decision that they didn’t force me or anything like that, but at that point I really had faith in the producers and that they had my best interest at heart,” he wrote.
Today, however, Blake feels that single producers don’t have him and don’t care about him.
“I was clearly wrong and they didn’t want me to be happy with Hannah bc who ruined their plans for the season…” he wrote.
Blake Horstmann continued: “The biggest thing they told me is that they convinced me… I had the first date card and that brings a lot of responsibility and if I would choose the person everyone thinks that nobody will take the risks and I would possibly ruin the experience for other people bc they would not break out and see a possible interest in a person and that will ruin love stories”.
But that’s a good thing, because Hannah Godwin ended up with Dylan Barbour (they’re still happily engaged), and Blake feels they are a perfect couple.
“Everything worked out for Hannah and Dylan to be perfect for each other and live happily ever after,” he wrote.
