Former Counting On stars Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard continue sharing secrets about why they left her family’s TLC reality show. Since they left the series in late 2017, Jill and Derick have continued to distance themselves from Jim Bob Duggar and the rest of the family.

In a series of recent videos, Jill and Derick Dillard have explained that they disagree with Jim Bob and his fundamentalist family. In their latest video, they dropped a bomb that proved that they are even further removed from the brand that Jim Bob built.

In the past, Derick Dillard has claimed in social media reports that Jim Bob Duggar keeps all the money that TLC pays the family for Counting On. This despite the fact that his children are the stars of the show.

Jill and Derick’s latest video is titled “Q&A: Birth Control, Budget, LGBTQ+ More! In it, they showed that they had to hire a lawyer to get paid for playing the stars in Counting On. The revelation came when a fan asked the couple how to survive financially while Derick Dillard is in law school.

“Until the time we left the show, we weren’t paid for anything,” Jill revealed. “Of course there were perks to filming. If you were traveling or whatever, they could cover those costs.

Jill said they were grateful for that, but they didn’t get paid until they hired a lawyer. Derick added that once they had a lawyer, they could get back some of what Jill should have been paid.

Jilland Derick Dillard explained that they both went debt-free in their marriage. Derick said he was able to go to Oklahoma State University without a student loan debt. He was able to do so mainly because of the scholarships.

Once they were paid for counting, Jill and Derick Dillard said they have lived off their savings while Derick is in law school. He explained that he earned scholarships for law school and that he pays when he goes. Derick works in foreign jobs and Jill makes money through social media.

The couple also graduated from Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University and his Every Dollar Budget app. Jill and Derick Dillard told their fans that they use these financial tools on a daily basis. This is how they are able to cash in on their lifestyle while Derick is at school.

Derick revealed to the fans that they have officially monetized their YouTube channel. He wanted to make it clear that he and Jill were making money for the Q&A videos they recently posted.
