Mama June: From Not to Hot: June Shannon is sober

Reality star Mama June, born June Shannon, is making her debut these days with a new, albeit fuller body. In a preview of the new season of Mama June: Road to Redemption, the reality star playfully jokes, “I’m back — larger, sweeter than ever,” reports The Irish Sun.

But how much weight has Mama June gained? According to a clip from the reality show’s new trailer, Mama June has admitted to putting on 60 pounds since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Look we have put on a little couple extra pounds. I’ve put on about 60. He’s put on about 100. We put on a whole other person. But I blame it on the healthy COVID weight,” she joked, to which her boyfriend Geno Doak quickly shot back: “How much damn COVID did we eat?”.

As reported by The Irish Sun, Mama June’s dramatic weight gain also coincides with her new sober lifestyle. 

During a preview of the new season of Mama June: Road to Redemption, Mama June hints at a new recovery for her and boyfriend Geno Doak. “So much has happened to us. We’ve been sober for seven months now. Can you believe it?” she wondered aloud.

According to the Daily Mail, Mama June moved to Florida with Geno to focus on her sobriety. Together, the couple moved into an apartment overlooking a gorgeous golf course. 

Sadly, the mother of four is still estranged from her daughters. June Shannon’s youngest daughter, AlanaThompson currently resides in Georgia with her older sister Lauryn Shannon, also known as, her husband Josh and their daughter Ella.

AlanaThompson is captured crying uncontrollably in a teaser for the upcoming season, claiming that she has been “crying herself to sleep” over her mother’s drug addiction. Let’s hope the upcoming season of the show will see a reconciliation between mother and daughter!
