Mama June: From Not To Hot: Pumpkin Has Some Concerns

Mama June: Road To Redemption spoilers reveal that Lauryn Shannon has something to celebrate amid the ongoing turmoil caused by her mother June Shannon’s addiction. Pumpkin is pregnant with her second child.

Mama June: Road To Redemption star says she’s been trying to conceive for some time but hasn’t been successful. Pumpkin says she stopped using contraceptives a year and a half ago and got tired of negative pregnancy test results.

Pumpkin and her husband, Josh Efird, decided to stop testing and let nature take its course. All the waiting paid off when she found out she was pregnant last November.

Lauryn Shannon’s new baby is due in July. Pumpkin says she and Josh Efird had come to terms with the idea that Ella could be an only child, and that’s OK. Pumpkin then claims she felt funny one day and took a test and it came back positive. Pumpkin couldn’t be more thrilled, although he says it’s been nerve-wracking too.

While the Mama June: Road To Redemption star is excited, she also has some concerns. Lauryn Shannon’s husband works in South Carolina, so she’s not home to help with the day-to-day parenting tasks. While Joshua takes care of the family, Pumpkin is responsible not only for the day-to-day upkeep of the house, but also for caring for the soon-to-be two children. Pumpkin has also had custody of her sister, Alana Thompson. Pumpkin took Alana Thompson in when their mother was arrested in 2019.

Mama June: Road To Redemption: Alana Thompson already feels like a burden to her sister and wishes she could move on with her life. Alana Thompson doesn’t feel that her sister, who is only 21 years old, should have to care for her 15-year-old sister because of their mother’s addiction.

Pumpkin does not believe that Alana Thompson should worry about such things given her age. On Friday’s We-tv show Mama June: Road To Redemption, the girls came face to face with their mother and discussed how her addiction has affected them. June Shannon has been clean for a year now and just found out about her new granddaughter in this episode.

June Shannon is happy about the baby, although she doesn’t think her daughter needs another child. Hopefully the family can move on and reunite as mother and daughter.
