Married at First Sight: Mindy Shiben Told Pastor Cal Roberson She Still Saw potential With Zach Justice

While Zach Justice and Mindy Shiben had a romantic wedding day in Lifetime’s Married at First Sight Season 10, their marital bliss seemed to fade quickly.

During their honeymoon in Panama, Zach Justice admitted that he was not attracted to Mindy. The couple shared a room, but had no physical intimacy beyond a single kiss. After returning to their hometown of Washington, D.C., Zach and Mindy did not move in together even for Zach’s fear of committing to a woman with whom he did not feel the spark.

In the February 12 episode of Married at First Sight, Zach and Mindy sat down with Pastor Cal Roberson to discuss their difficult marriage. Zach’s session with Pastor Cal led the marriage expert to wonder if Zach’s reasons for coming on the show were sincere.

While Zach wasn’t even ready to move in with Mindy Shiben, she told Pastor Cal in a one-on-one counseling session that she was more than ready to jump headlong into a marriage.

It’s no secret that I really wanted to get married and that I’m ready to work hard,” she told Pastor Cal the star of “Married at First Sight. He continued, “I really like Zach. He’s smart and adventurous, and all the experts put us together for many reasons, and I see his potential.

But Mindy and Zach had a big problem: Chemistry. “On our honeymoon, he let it be known that he’s not attracted to me,” Mindy complained. “She’s someone I want to commit to, but she doesn’t give me anything to work with.”

Pastor Cal advised Mindy not to base her self-esteem on Zach’s answers and reminded her that attraction can grow. “She’s a smart person. You’re an attractive person,” he assured her. “And I hope you have the good sense to see it.”

After his session with Mindy, Pastor Cal was not convinced that Zach Justice was really committed to a serious relationship. “Looks like most of the problems are due to Zach’s attitude,” he told the producers at Lifetime.

In a private meeting with Zach, the new husband admitted he knew Mindy was “good on paper” for him. It was the feeling of a spark, she said, that had left him cold and distant.

“I’m struggling with the attraction,” Zach Justice told the “Married at first sight” expert. “All these attributes check boxes.” And for me, personally, chemistry is a little bit that intangible, that can’t be manufactured.” And that’s the engine of your attraction.” That fuels your intensity so that you can interact and discover and make things work”.

The personal trainer added that he simply didn’t feel the chemistry with his wife, no matter what other attraction he could build based on “familiarity” or “similarities” with her. And while he admitted that Mindy was “athletic”, well-liked, “fun” and “intellectual,” he simply felt that something was missing.

“I really don’t know what to do,” Zach confessed. However, he said he was willing to work on his marriage to Mindy.

But Pastor Cal wasn’t sure what to believe. “I’m not sure I believe Zach 100%,” he told the producers. “Maybe he’s in on it for the wrong reasons.” Maybe he’s just confused.”
