Sister Wives: Why Did Christine Brown Leave Kody Brown?

Since its launch in 2010, TLC’s hit reality show Sister Wives has garnered countless fans. People were curious to see life as a polygamist family, and the Browns opened their doors to the world to share every detail of their ups and downs.  While most states have laws that make it illegal to live as a polygamist, some people have no qualms about having multiple wives (via Screen Rant). The series, now in its 16th season, explores the lives of Kody Brown and his multiple wives – Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown and Robyn Brown – and their blended family, which predictably includes plenty of drama as well as wholesome family moments.

Although controversial at first, fans quickly fell in love with the unconventional family. Despite the fact that people did not fully understand or accept their world, they still watched with rapt attention. The show repeatedly tried to portray them as a normal and happy family, but as the seasons progressed, things began to change for the Browns.

Kody now has two wives, after divorcing his third wife Christine Brown. Janelle Brown and Kody have been “spiritually married” since 1993 and although she is still with Kody Brown, fans have suspected that she has split up in the past – for the same reason they suspect Christine Brown may now have split.

If you watch Sister Wives, this breakup is no surprise at all. Contemporary women have repeatedly expressed their disappointment and jealousy over Kody Brown’s fourth wife Robyn Brown. Throughout the show, viewers have witnessed women noticing Kody’s preference for Robyn, and Janelle herself has claimed to have “wit’s end with this whole bull***t stuff”.

While the separation will continue, more details are sure to emerge, especially in view of the release of the new 16th season on 21 November 2021.

However, fans have begun to suspect that Christine Brown’s departure may be the result of tensions that continue to build up on the show, as Kody’s favoritism and different treatment of Robyn Brown becomes increasingly clear (via Screen Rant). We’ll have to wait and see how this drama unfolds on screen – it’s sure to be a juicy season!
