Counting On: Jinger Duggar Vuolo Shared A Rare Insight Into Her Marriage

Not happening. Jeremy Vuolo finally spoke out about the rumours that have been circulating about the marriage between him and his wife Jinger Duggar. Like many of his siblings, the Counting On star married relatively young and devoted himself to his marriage and two daughters.

But in recent months, fans have been concerned that things may not be so rosy in the Vuolo household. They’ve pointed to hints in Duggar’s facial expressions, his reluctance to post photos of his children and the couple’s abrupt disconnection from their Christian podcast and online shop.  In recent days, however, the Vuolods seem to have returned to normal life. They are back to posting happy photos and positive affirmations.

Then, on April 16, Jeremy Vuolo posted an Instagram photo of him and Duggar visiting two friends. One follower commented, “I wish people will stop saying you guys are splitting! Hope it is not true!” Jeremy Vuolo replied: “100 percent not true! Tabloids are like professional water cooler gossips.” He added a laughing boy for emphasis.

The Vuolos are also busy promoting their new book, The Hope We Hold: Finding Peace in the Promises of God. The hardcover book looks at their courtship and marriage, their lives as parents, and their trust in faith to guide them through the rough patches. Duggar is said to have also addressed some of the insecurities she had as a child in the memoir, including her struggles with her weight as a teenager.

Critics can be forgiven for being sceptical about the Vuolos relationship. Only half of American marriages last a long time (per the American Psychological Association), so it seems statistically impossible that all 10 married Duggar children would be happily married.

The Duggars’ beliefs about relationships only increase skepticism. Their conservative Christian faith establishes the man as the head of the family and the woman as their submissive partner.

While it may be far-fetched to say that divorce is ‘forbidden’, it is certainly discouraged. Instead, couples turn to faith-based marriage counselling to solve their problems, as Josh Duggar and his wife Anna did after his infidelity. This may have also been the case for Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo; one source told the tabloid that the Vuolos were stressed lately by their responsibilities and a new baby, and took a short break from their social media activity to focus on their marriage.
