The Bachelorette: Some Fans Are Upset With Ashley Iaconetti

On the most recent episode of The Bachelorette, Jared Haibon and Ashley Iaconetti Haibon made an appearance to lead a group date. The couple helped Tayshia Adams find out which of the participants are “grown-a**” men through a series of competitions. While Ashley is a fan favorite for Bachelor Nation, some fans of The Bachelorette were postponed when Ashley sneezed without covering her nose and mouth.

Two different group dates took place on the sixth episode of Season 16 of The Bachelorette. For the first group date, Ashley and Jared showed the participants a series of tests to see who is the most mature. Challenges included spelling and math questions, a physical challenge and cooking breakfast. In the end, Ashley and Jared declared Bennett Jordan the winner.

“Jared and I crowned Bennett winner of the men’s competition because he was one of three guys that we felt had a tangible connection to Tayshia. He slept with her for breakfast unlike the others before him and used the time to get in touch with her and not just serve her,” Ashley wrote for Cosmopolitan.

While Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon were being interviewed about the date, Ashley dropped a sneeze. She quickly told them that she had been tested for the coronavirus (COVID-19) so people would not be afraid to sneeze.

However, fans of The Bachelorette wrote on social media that they were upset Ashley didn’t cover her mouth and nose when she sneezed. “And right after she was like, ‘It’s ok, I tested negative. Ummmm still filthy and you still don’t want your germs thrown everywhere? God, Ashley,” wrote a fan on Reddit.

“Okay…you may have been tested and negative for COVID-19, but there are LOT of other infectious diseases that can be spread by droplets from sneezing. I know children over 4 years old who can reliably sneeze in their elbows….,” another fan on Reddit wrote.

Other fans found humor in Haibon’s reaction to move away and tell Ashley to cover her nose. “It’s such a reflex to cover sneezing with my arm, sneezing like this baffle me haha. And Jared’s reaction made me laugh. We’re all Jared here,” a Reddit user wrote.
