Counting On: Jill Is Now The Mom Of A School-aged Child.

Jill Duggar is celebrating while two of her boys go to school today. It was the first day of kindergarten for Israel Dillard and the first day of Derick Dillard’s last year of law school.

Israel Dillard is the first grandson of Duggar to be enrolled in public school. All of Josh and Anna Duggar’s children are home-schooled and Jill and Derick have the next oldest grandchild.

Earlier this year, Jill Duggar shocked Counting On fans when she announced that she and Derick Dillard had chosen to enroll their oldest son in public school. They both felt it was the best choice and it is the same school that Derick attended when he grew up.

There had been some speculation that homeschooling would not be the choice made, but once announced, the followers were shocked. Jill shared several times over the years that she was at home with the kids at times.

Up to this point, Jill has shared the process of purchasing school supplies. This year may not be what parents had planned for Israel Dillard and his first experience with public school, but that’s where things are going because of the coronavirus pandemic.

She shared several photos on Instagram of their first days – photos of each of the parents with Israel and one of the whole family when they first went to kindergarten together.
