KUWTK: Kourtney Shared What She’s Teaching Her Kids

Millions of people love to follow Kourtney Kardashian, her famous Kardashian-Jenner brothers and her children. Along with her ex-boyfriend, Scott Disick, 41-year-old Kourtney has three young children. The oldest son, Mason Disick, is 10 years old. Meanwhile, her only daughter, Penelope Disick, will soon celebrate her eighth birthday. Finally, her youngest son, Reign Disick, is 5 years old.

Kourtney has been talking about how much she loves being a mom. In fact, one of the main reasons she wanted to leave her family’s successful reality TV show, Keeping Up with the Kardashian, is to spend more time with her children. Because all three of her children are young and impressionable, she wants to be with them as often as possible.

As a mother, there is a natural instinct to protect my children from anything that might make them feel sad or unsafe. The pain and suffering inflicted by racism is not a thing of the past and I bare the responsibility to speak with my kids honestly and often about it, even when the truth is uncomfortable. I have to make sure they understand what it means to have white privilege and to take the time to learn and discuss Black History, beyond just one short month out of the year. I encourage other mothers to join me in using this as a learning lesson for our children, to allow our children to feel comfortable enough to come talk to us about anything. Allow conversation without judgement, and learn from our children too. We don’t know it all. My children sometimes ask questions that I may not know the answers to, so we explore them together. I’ve felt like I’ve always been on the right side of this, but I have a lot to learn and want to educate myself even more, so that I can be a better mother, a better auntie to my nieces and nephews, a better friend, and a better person. Recently, Kourtney visited her Instagram page to share what she is teaching her children. After sharing a photo of her with her son Mason, she wrote a caption about her responsibilities as a mother.

Given the state of the union, the 41-year-old considered it prudent to share that she is teaching them the dangers of racism. Poosh’s owner said that she also teaches her children their whiteness so that they can understand the rights and privileges that this entails. Kourtney urged other mothers to continue to educate their children on these issues.

Of course, Kardashian’s post received mixed reviews. Some people complimented the reality TV star for being a good mother. And others were happy that she used her huge platform to talk about important issues.

However, some critics felt the need to denounce the past behavior of Kardashian’s children, using it as proof that she would not be able to talk to them about anything substantial.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians: Kourtney Kardashian Occasionally Struggles To Parent 3 Young Kids

“I have my moments! When no one listens to me, it causes a moment,” Kardashian told Health magazine. “Especially when you’re in a time crunch and trying to get out the door.” I don’t always have the patience I want.” But I try to remember, “It’s no big deal, all right, we’ll get there.” It’s about letting go of the plan – it doesn’t always work!”.

Clearly, Kourtney sometimes struggles to control her children like any other parent. All we can do is hope that he has those conversations about racism and privilege with her children consistently, and that he continues to use her wealth and fame to fight injustice.
