Although Captain Sandy Yawn of Below Decks Mediterranean wishes chief steward Hannah Ferrier well, she said she would never work with her again.
“I prefer to work with people I can trust and that’s it, to be honest,” Sandy Yawn said to E. Adding, she has “no regrets” about Ferrier’s dismissal or how it was treated.
The animosity of the situation was already clear before the season began, but viewers had no insight into why the two were freezing for each other. “If someone hates their job and if someone, you know, constantly just goes against the authority or… Hannah Ferrier, I wish you all the best,” ET said. “She admits she hates sailing, so if you have that mix, it’s hard to stay focused.

Emotion or feelings aside, Captain Sandy Yawn said the client is always her number one priority. “Imagine you’re in my shoes, it was a challenge,” she said to E. “The maritime industry has a certain standard… My number one priority is the customer.”
“I love guiding people, so people interested in learning from me,” she continued. “I like people who take their careers seriously. Honestly, I’m here because I love what I do and I want people to work for me who like working in the marine industry and if they don’t, don’t lose love”.
Sandy Yawn added that it’s not entirely uncommon to go through crew members either. “The reality is that yachts go through crew members,” she said. “Once you’ve found the crew that are really together you have a great season and sometimes you just have an out of season.
Hannah Ferrier wishes she would have registered the medication in the beginning. “If I could do it all over again, I would have just reported it as soon as I got on board,” she said to E. “It certainly wasn’t something that was deliberate. I wasn’t trying to hide anything.”
But Hannah Ferrier added that Chives didn’t handle the situation well and didn’t appreciate being cursed on the dock. “I think it was treated very badly and I think it was treated very unprofessionally,” she said. “The fact that she shouted, ‘F**k you!’ is insane.”
“I think Sandy responds very well to people who kiss a***, and I’m not good at that,” Hannah Ferrier said to ET earlier this season. “I’m much more of, I’m here to do my job. I respect you as my captain, but at the same time I sometimes say no to her, which I don’t think is going very well”.
As for learning that Yawn wishes her well and wanted to send her a baby gift, Hannah Ferrier said she is not interested in getting back in touch with Yawn. “It was very bad, “Oh, can I have your address? I’d like to send something for the baby,” she said. “Unless you send me my career back, I’m really not interested.”
The whole thing was revolving around personal issues and very little was about the guests. The new charter member after Kiko s departure asked if she has eaten yet (Sandy) from the brand new chef. She answered no!

Everything was staged to bring Tom as a chef and Hanna caught on to it. She became the undesirable person and had to be eliminated.
The client is not the most important thing to Captain Sandy. Her ego as a captain is. She treated Hannah like she was a street level junkie. She rushed to chase her down and take her prescribed medication (that was with the prescription) expressing fear she would flush it…only to give it right back less than two minutes later. That entire scene was unprofessional and wrong. I hope in the future captain Lee can hire her. They would be a great match!
The only thing fame wh**e and dry drunk Captain Sandy cares about is herself. Let’s not forget she was taking Adderall when she had her heart attack in 2018. Recovering alcoholics, especially ones over 50 years old, should not be taking Adderall. If she is sober and off all drugs and addictive medications, which I doubt, then she is a dry drunk. If she’s using, even with a prescription from a feel good doctor, she’s just an addict, which I suspect is the truth. I liked Captain Sandy the first season, but the fame has taken over, and she is not someone I would feel safe with on a boat. She has hated Hannah for years, and she finally saw her moment to get Hannah, very childish and cruel. If Hannah had not signed a very strong contract with Bravo, a good attorney could sue them all and win! I wish Bravo would flush producer Nadine, Captain Sandy, Malia, and Bugsy. They are all sickening, manipulative, cruel, liars. Thank goodness for Captain Lee, A Cut Above.
