Below Deck Mediterranean star Captain Sandy Yawn has shared some depressing news with fans. The captain said she is currently mourning the loss of her brother. She took to social media to pay her respects. Sandy also reflected on memories they once shared together. She has been a part of the Below Deck Med franchise since Season 2. Sandy replaced season 1 captain Mark Howard, who tragically passed away last year.

Now the Below Deck family suffers another tragic loss. Her brother died at the age of 55. Sandy paid tribute to him and wished him “Godspeed” in a statement.

On Thursday 13 January, Captain Sandy Yawn took to Instagram to share a photo of her return. In the first, she can be seen watching her brothers fight in the backyard as children. Turn right and you’ll see a recent photo of Sandy with her brother. She did not share her brother’s name in her post. Nor did the 56-year-old give more details about his death, but rather reflected on their childhood together.

Captain Sandy Yawn recalls times when they were “youngsters” and ran around and played like the explorers in Mark Twain’s novel.
